Healthy Cells, Healthy Immune System, Healthy Body
Our immune system was designed specifically to heal our bodies and keep them healthy. So why are so many failing these days?
There are many factors that cause our immune systems to function poorly - diet, lack of exercise, too much stress and how we handle it, pollutants and contaminants in the air and water, toxins in our food supply, body care and cleaning products among many other factors. But taking our health seriously doesn't have to be burdensome and confusing.
I don't know anyone who wants to be sick or die of disease but sadly that's what is happening to so many people. Death is a sure thing, but disease doesn't have to be.
If you're interested in strengthening your immune system allowing it to do its job, which is to heal your body, then go to Amazing Molecules . Find out how healthy cells make for a healthy body and then contact me!

Does Disease Begin in the Colon?
Have you ever heard that "disease begins in the colon?" If not, you're not alone. The majority of adults, children and babies are seen by medical doctors when they are sick. Unfortunately though, many medical doctors don't understand or believe that disease begins in the colon, but it's true (I found out that it's just not part of their curriculum in med school, how sad is that?). And not only is it true, it makes perfect sense.
To put it very simply so that even a child can understand this before his or her mind is filled with misconceptions and yes, lies which get in the way of proper thinking (but that's another article for another time), the way that God created our bodies is that when we eat something, our body takes what it needs from the food to nourish our organs, veins, blood etc... and then eliminates the waste. Simple, right? So what happens when we eat food, the body takes what it needs (if it's available in the food - again another article for another time) but the waste is not eliminated? Uh-oh!
This is where it gets ugly. You continue to eat food but you are not eliminating! So what happens to the waste? It just sits in your colon and ferments, so to speak, not to mention it adds on unhealthy weight. If this waste isn't eliminated for a period of time, bacteria will develop and grow and your problems are just beginning if you don't catch it in time.
Sadly, constipation is very common. Did you know that human beings should eliminate three times a day? About twenty to thirty minutes after a meal the waste from the previous meal should be pushed out (see peristalsis and catastalsis). But for many, this isn't happening and constipation becomes the known problem. But constipation isn't the problem just as much as cancer isn't the problem. They are only symptoms of something that has gone wrong within. So what's the reason why this happens? Mainly because of a poor diet, not a lack of food, but the lack of a healthy diet.
After my own personal experience, after all the research and after a drastic change in my own diet (along with a lot of praying and asking the Lord for direction) I'm convinced that it's true: Disease begins in the colon.

Raw Dairy: A letter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Dear Mr. Hennes,
My husband came across an article on Channel 6 Action News today regarding two people from PA (where I live) who became ill from the consumption of raw milk. After reading the article and hearing so many lies about raw milk and dairy, I would like to state some thought and facts.
My family has been consuming raw milk and dairy for the past seven years now. I am lactose intolerant. There is a tremendous difference when I drink pasteurized milk versus raw milk. I do not get bloated and doubled-over in pain from drinking raw milk though I did from pasteurized milk. I would say there's something to be said for that. But the FDA states in the article link above that raw milk does not help the lactose intolerant person. I'm living proof that it does. Where do your facts come from?
I’m very familiar with the campaign against raw milk and raw dairy, but could there some truth to the claims that there is BIG money in the pasteurization and homogenization of dairy? What is really driving the campaign against raw dairy? Isn’t this the same type of “campaigning” that took place between tropical oils (specifically coconut/palm oils) and soybean oil?
The soybean industry created a smear campaign, using scare tactics to convince consumers that coconut and palm oils would clog their arteries and cause heart disease. Wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that it’s actually homogenization that causes clogged arteries and heart disease? After all, homogenization requires milk to be put through a sieve which breaks down the fat globules into such miniscule “uniform” fat particles making them small enough to enter our bloodstream. This is why the fat doesn’t come together and rise to the top of the milk (consumers seem to prefer that uniform look or that which has the appearance of being pure and healthy like white flour and white sugar).
Milk that has not been homogenized has naturally occurring fat globules that are not uniform in size and are too big to enter the bloodstream causing them to be eliminated as waste. And speaking of accuracy, wouldn’t it be more accurate to say that coconut oil is one of THE most healthy foods on this planet? At 76 degrees F coconut oil is a clear liquid. If our body temperature is 98.6 degrees F I can’t see how it could possibly clog our arteries, can you? I can personally vouch for how nutritious coconut oil is. A drastic change in my diet which included extra virgin organic coconut oil healed my thyroid after taking Synthroid for eleven years. Synthroid hasn’t been part of my diet in over six years now! And my cholesterol levels are very good.
Is it true that in 2003 the FDA reported that compared to raw milk, deli meats contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes caused many more illnesses than raw milk? If so, why hasn’t the public been warned that deli meats are "inherently dangerous and should not be consumed," just like the FDA advises about raw milk?
Following is an excerpt from an article on the FDA website entitled, "Listeria monocytogenes Risk Assessment: Interpretive Summary." "While outbreak investigations provide valuable information about potential modes of L. monocytogenes transmission, they do not always identify the contaminated food source." So why does all the focus go towards raw milk and dairy? Please review Summary Table 4 in the above Risk Assessment article link where "Deli Meats" top the list for highest risk for Listeria contamination!
While it’s not impossible for an illness to occur from raw milk, I can’t help but wonder why raw milk and dairy consumption are polarized and take the headlines like they do. These cases are so few and far between, unlike, say, medical mistakes.
The Abstract below (highlighted in yellow and green) was taken from page 13 of 136 of the Institute of Medicine’s article called “Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Health Care” dated September 22, 2011. It is reported that ten years prior there was an alarming rate of medical errors. If this is true, why doesn’t this make the headlines? I haven’t noticed many warnings, if any, from the FDA/government even though we are all potential victims to man-made medical errors which, by the way, are rampant. Highlighted in green below is a claim that even though our government/country has attempted to address these problems in healthcare, progress is slow due to greed and egos (that’s my interpretation). I understand human nature is what it is, but who is taking the initiative to hold these people accountable? And why aren’t these dangers being headlined and broadcasted in the news media? Is it because that’s all covered under the so-called “patient rights” when we are required to sign our lives away prior to treatment of any kind by a doctor/hospital so that they are NOT able to be held liable? Could it be that it’s the doctors and hospitals who are being protected and consumers are being duped and left out in the cold? What a sad state of our union. Just for the record, I don’t rely on doctors and hospitals for my health and wellness. I take responsibility for that. Shouldn’t we all and shouldn’t we be teaching children to do the same? I think so. But instead what are we teaching children here in the United States of America? Evolution as though it were fact, homosexual lifestyle as though it were normal and premarital sex is condoned as though it were no different than going to the nurse for an aspirin? We teach tolerance to everyone and everything except to the One who created us, who sustains us, and who gave His life for us.
ABSTRACT
Ten years ago, the Institute of Medicine reported alarming data on the scope and impact of medical errors in the US and called for national efforts to address this problem. While efforts to improve patient safety have proliferated during the past decade, progress toward improvement has been frustratingly slow. Some of this lack of progress may be attributable to the persistence of a medical ethos, institutionalized in the hierarchical structure of academic medicine and healthcare organizations, that discourages teamwork and transparency and undermines the establishment of clear systems of accountability for safe care.
“Pasteurized for your safety” is the little catch phrase spelled out on lids and containers of all kinds of beverage and food products that make consumers feel, oh I don’t know, special? Important? Cared for? Loved? That is your motive for including that phrase, isn’t it? Because when some feels special, important, cared for and loved, they, in return will TRUST whoever their affections are directed at. This is a tactic used everywhere for personal and business gain. It uses and abuses people. It’s wrong and just plain dirty. The reason for pasteurization is for pure profit. Pasteurization allows beverages and food to stay on shelves longer and that’s the bottom line. It might be convenient to consumers because people are now so accustomed to their busy lifestyle, but that doesn't negate the fact that the FDA and the government is certainly not thinking of our safety first! Allow us to drink and eat pure and healthy foods which clearly nourish our bodies.
I know that raw dairy is legal in PA, for which I am grateful, but it’s not legal in many states and it’s not legal to cross over a state line with which, in all honesty, is absurd. Alcohol, which is legal all over and sold in many states in the supermarkets, convenience stores, gas stations etc. is much more lethal and kills many more people directly and indirectly than raw milk ever has and ever will, yet I don’t see that going away any time soon or at all. Why is that? Is it because there’s too much money being made from it? Listen, I’m not asking for something that is dangerous here. Those who work for the FDA and those in our government should open their eyes and stop making money and greed your bottom line. Once you stop that then you’ll be free to see the truth and understand it.
I would like to ask that the FDA/government allow organic farmers to farm without interference from the government or from the Monsanto monopoly schemes. Put a stop to Monsanto's frivolous lawsuits against innocent farmers who believe that organic and true sustainable farming methods are not only better for our environment but also for consumers. Put an end to Monsanto's insatiable appetite for destroying farmers' land and livelihood (and stop them from clogging up our judicial system).
Why is it that we, the people, are being deprived of our inherent right to eat what God has provided to nourish our bodies which He created, yet those with appetites to destroy what is right and true and good have their fill? If the FDA would stop approving processed “junk”foods and drugs that attribute to poor health and even death then people would have to take responsibility for their own lives. This county needs to wake up to the call that’s been sounding out for many, many years.
Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I hope you seek the truth and work to make a difference for the people, not for lobbyists, food and drug manufacturers, the government or for yourself unless it’s first for the people!
I’ve had my say. Now I would like to hear your response. Again, thank you.

Jennifer Sands, Christian author, speaker and 9/11 widow
A friend had invited me to a women's luncheon today at her church in Burlington, NJ. It was a very nice day. The guest speaker was Jennifer Sands.
Before 9/11 Jennifer believed in God, that He existed, but that was about it. She had no interest in knowing Jesus or reading Scripture until...9/11 happened. On this day Jennifer Sands became a widow. Ten years later she stands before the Lord and us a transformed woman, someone who now knows and understands the true meaning of the word peace and owns it.
Jennifer’s life could have taken a turn for the worse but by recognizing God’s grace and accepting His sovereignty over her life she has been able to overcome that terrible tragedy and allow God to turn it into something beautiful. This is what He does.
I hope these words bring encouragement to you and causes you to think of things you either haven't given any thought to or things you might sweep under the rug. :)

The truth about an all time favorite snack
Dr. Mercola's article about this snack and others is a a great reminder to me and may be an eye-opener for some. What I appreciate about Dr. Mercola is that he tells it like it is and doesn't make excuses for anyone or anything. I respect his honesty and I'm grateful for his determination and willingness to get the correct information out to us. I understand how he feels because I see so many unsuspecting people including teens and children who are so influenced by what they see on the Internet, TV, billboards, magazines etc. and most times they're not taught to question what they see and hear especially when it relates to diet and health. Maybe we should start teaching our children from birth (and at whatever age they are now) to question what they see and hear before they accept and receive it with open arms. Maybe then there will be direction change in the hearts of those in our government and the food industry who are looking out for their own interest.
Remember, our children are being targeted BECAUSE they are the most influential. Companies know this and they take full advantage of it. Our children are like sitting ducks if their parents aren't guiding them so don't allow companies the privilege of guiding your children. Ads and commercials are geared towards our children to get them hooked on their products!
So click here for Dr. Mercola's article and links to help you make good and right diet, food and health choices.

"Reworking," "reconditioning" and "reprocessing" food just doesn't sound right
Snokist in Washington state, a huge supplier of processed fruit and babyfood, was caught using moldy apples in their applesauce AFTER being warned by the FDA. And guess who this applesauce is supplied to? According to the U.S. Dept of Agriculture, Snokist is or was (we don't know which at this point) supplying SCHOOLS nationwide through federal "nutrition" programs. Nutrition? Do they really know what that word means?
The words "rework," "recondition" and "reprocess" jumped out at me while reading the article. These words have nothing to do with nutrition. What Snokist produces is "DEAD" food, to say the least.
As you read the article and the quotes of those who work at Snokist you'll get the idea that they truly don't care about producing quality food. Their concern is the bottom line - profit, which is the name of the game for most, if not all, food manufacturing companies. The fact that Snokist has been warned by the FDA and still continued to use moldy apples just goes to prove who they're looking out for, and it's not our children.
This is why each of us must take responsibility for ourselves and for our children. We can't allow the government or companies to determine what is good for us. Unfortunately there is too much corruption and greed. We need to wake up and understand that we DO have a choice in the matter. But that choice requires more of our attention and time. In order to stop this malarkey, we simply must make wise decisions and recognize that we should not give authority over to others to decide what is best for us. One way to do that is to have your child bring his or her lunch to school EVERY school day. But first make sure you have healthy foods on hand for them to take. And I don't mean Lunchables and prepackaged foods which come from manufacturing companies like Snokist who are only in it for profit. Make your own "lunchables" with fresh organic fruits and vegetables, and just as important, make changes to your own diet. Children learn more from what they see than what hear. And decide not to buy junk foods and sodas. This way they're not easily accessible. But much more, please don't let your children eat the slop that our government is allowing these companies to provide at very low costs, because you surely do get what you pay for! Like my cousin Michele recently said to me in an email that she heard from someone else - "You either pay now or pay later."

Would love to hear your comments, questions and concerns.

FOOD MATTERS, the movie
Does food really matter?
Are you [really] what you eat?
Below is an email I sent to Dr. Stephen Barrett, founder of Quackwatch. I blind cc'd Dr. Lorraine Day as I have in the past so that she is aware of the email, and so she knows I continue to support her efforts.
The movie I mentioned in the email, Food Matters, can be viewed for FREE between October 2nd and October 8th (this is not a trailer, it's the actual movie). You can also purchase a DVD on Dr. Mercola's website for only $10.oo.
I encourage EVERYONE to watch this movie and then pass it on to everyone you know and post it on Face Book, twitter it or whatever it is you do best! :)
Please continue on to read the email to Dr. Barrett:
Dear Dr. Barrett,
I had written to you a couple of times before, the first time being within a year or so of having been diagnosed with breast cancer, now 7 years ago. We went back and forth a bit about how diet and nutrition play a huge role in one’s health. Sadly, at that time, you disagreed and objected strongly to this notion.
I’m not sure what your beliefs are but my belief is that the Lord was responsible for opening my eyes. My mom, who saw Dr. Lorraine Day on television had decided, without fully realizing the impact it would have, to purchase what would later help change the course of my life and the lives of others around me. This, mind you, was just after I had my first and last chemo treatment.
Today I write to you because you come across my mind from time to time and after watching the video, Food Matters, I thought of you again. I pray for you that God would reveal His truth to you about how He flawlessly created our human bodies. God - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is our Healer and our Forgiver. He designed our bodies so that, when taken care of properly, they will heal. With that, I would like to ask you to watch the movie, Food Matters, made available to watch for free between October 2nd and October 8th.
Please click here to watch and feel free to pass it on (this is the actual movie, it is not a trailer).
Thank you!

Easy beauty treatments from the used and infused
Are you getting your money's worth?
Try these easy beauty treatments that reuse
items you would normally throw away.
GRAPEFRUIT
Grapefruit is among one of the highest fruits in antioxidants. High in vitamin C it also contains phytonutrients called limonoids, which are tumor inhibitors. It contains pectin, a soluble fiber which has been found in animal studies to slow down progression for atherosclerosis (heart disease). It also helps to prevent kidney stones and protects against colon cancer.
Try this:
Take a grapefruit and peel off the skin in wedges. I like to use the Pampered Chef Citrus Peeler (only $1.00) to peel my citrus fruit. Now, eat the grapefruit and then apply the peel all over your face (white pithy part to your skin). Keep the peel in each spot for at least ten seconds (it may stick to your forehead - I unloaded a few grocery bags while it was on my forehead)! Let dry and wipe off any pith. So refreshing and good for your skin!
TEA BAGS are easy on the eyes.
It's been proven that the tannin in tea bags (green or black) reduces inflammation (puffiness) and dark circles under and around the eyes. Caffeinated tea works best as it has a higher anti-inflammatory property and green tea works even better because it contains EGCG, an additional anti-inflammatory.
If you have puffy eyes or dark circles, give this a try:
First, make my favorite iced tea recipe below. Save the tea bags and place them in the refrigerator in a glass jar or container or place on waxed paper in the freezer until cold but not frozen (if they are too dry add some water just to make them damp). Pour some of the iced tea you just made, place a tea bag over each eye and sit and relax for 10-15 minutes in peace and quiet. Remove tea bags and throw them away (or you can reuse them if you like). Store the tea bags in the refrigerator and repeat daily or as often as you like.
MINTY LEMON GREEN TEA RECIPE
Makes 1 gallon
6 Organic green tea bags
6 Organic mint tea bags or a bunch of fresh organic torn mint leaves (I prefer peppermint)
2 Large Organic Lemon, cut in quarters
Organic Agave Nectar or raw unfiltered honey, to taste, optional
Ice, to fill a gallon pitcher half way plus extra
Add enough warm-hot water (not boiling) to fill the Pampered Chef Classic Batter Bowl. Add tea bags and steep for 5-10 minutes. Do not squeeze the green tea bags or the result may be a bitter tasting pitcher of iced tea. The mint tea can stay in as long as you like depending on how minty you like it. If you have the time, allow to cool completely.
In the Family Size Quick Stir Pitcher (yes, from Pampered Chef), add ice and the tea mixture and stir. Add more ice if necessary. Squeeze lemons in the pitcher only if you will consume it shortly after. If not, squeeze a nice size lemon wedge into a glass and fill with the tea. If you like some sweetness, add some Agave Nectar or honey, to taste.
To make a half gallon pitcher, cut ingredients in half and use the Small Batter Bowl and the Quick Stir Pitcher.
For more ideas for how to use used tea bags, go to:

Did you know?
- Green tea has lots of antioxidants.
- Peppermint relieves IBS symptoms, sick stomach and colic thru breast milk.
- Fresh lemon has vitamin C and is alkalizing in your body.
- Lemon water alkalizes your body, cleanses your liver and kidneys and aids in digestion.
- Each morning when you wake up, squeeze half of an organic lemon in a glass of lukewarm water and drink.

The CBS Early Show featuring corporate wellness
The CBS Early Show finally aired our two minute and forty six second piece on Wednesday, July 13th. I didn't find out until after the fact.
Not surprisingly, they cut the interview with our wellness coordinator, Michele (a/k/a Well Michele) and me but we weren’t cut out all together. Michele is in a purple top demonstrating the Virgin Health Miles Go Zone and my friend Kay and I are shown during the kick boxing class (I'm to the left of the screen in a white t-shirt on and Kay is to the right of the screen with short dark hair).
It was a great experience and a lot of fun! I’m thinking I’ll be joining a kick boxing class sometime in the near future!

The CBS Early Show on wellness - Music to my ears!
WATCH THE CBS EARLY SHOW
TUESDAY, JUNE 28TH - 7AM to 9AM
It was a very interesting week last week at work. The CBS Early Show came to my place of employment on Wednesday, June 22nd 2011. Let me backtrack a little and give you some background.
Our healthcare plan includes a wellness driven program called Virgin Health Miles. Virgin Health Miles held a contest for all of the participating companies who are signed up with Virgin Health Miles. Only those employees who are signed up with their company's health care program can participate. The contest was about how Virgin Health Miles has helped someone obtain better health. Well, out of all the companies and all the employees, one of our employees won!
The CBS Early Show arrived to hold interviews with Donna, the employee who won the contest, and Adele, our SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer. In the meantime, Well Michele, our wellness coordinator, asked some of us on the wellness committee if we would like to be part of the taping in the fitness center, which I accepted, and so she arranged a kickboxing class which is typcially held at 5:00pm twice a week (I just thought I'd be in the background stretching or something).
My interview came as a surprise. The CBS interviewer approached me immediately after the kickboxing class and asked if he could interview me. Adele mentioned to me soon after that she had just briefly mentioned that I promote wellness after dealing with some health isues. So we did the interview and I have to say that I was embarrassed because my face was beet red. Oh, not from the interview but from the kickboxing class. My face was so red during and after the class that I thought something was wrong with me. No one else's face was red like mine was. Now I know how Rudolf felt! But I felt great, a bit sore in the days following but I'm still here!
The show will air this coming Tuesday, June 28th. The Early Show starts at 7am though I’m not sure what time our story will be on. Of course, we don’t know how they will edit the tape so I can’t be sure I’ll even be in it, but that’s my story and I'm sticking to it! :)

If our pets could speak...
Those of us with pets know that one of their favorite pastimes is eating. Our pets depend on us for their survival. If we don’t provide them with the proper nourishment, they will suffer eventually.
Pets know when it’s time to eat. In fact, if breakfast or dinner is late, they make sure to tell us. But it’s not just meals our pets look forward to. Treats are also part of their diets. They even understand our language when we speak the word, “treat.” When we say that five letter word, their ears perk up and they get excited (anyone who has a pet understands what I'm saying). It’s amazing how they actually know what a “treat” is and how they anxiously wait for it. Some pets know exactly where we “hide” their treats and some will lead you to them. Some will do tricks for a treat (I taught my cat Emma to “sit” for a treat) and some will feel entitled to it (I have one of those).
Dogs and cats were domesticated long before any of us were even born. However, there are still wild dogs and cats. We refer to them as feral. These animals are born outside and are not open to having their freedom taken away. This is not to say that they will never accept it, but from my own experience with a feral cat, you can't take the feral completely out of them.
Have you ever thought about what a “domesticed pet” actually is as opposed to a wild animal? The term domesticated pet is a term we use for wild animals that we have domesticated. We have taken them from their natural environment and provided them with a totally different habitat, our homes. Over a long period of time, these wild animals have adapted to a new lifestyle. Here's an accurate description of what a "domesticated pet" is taken from Wikipedia: Domesticated pets are the most common types of pet. They have consistently been kept in captivity over a long enough period of time that they exhibit marked differences in behavior and appearance from their wild relatives.
So a domesticated pet will take to the comforts of a human home while a wild animal will not. Most wild animals are afraid of humans (and visa versa) and when they feel threatened, they'll even attack. They are not trained to obey our commands and if admitted into our home, would tear it up and us in the process. They live outside on their own and have to fend for themselves, finding their own food and shelter and protect themselves.
Domesticated pets, though they are wild by nature, have succumbed to daily living inside our homes, for the most part. We feed them, shelter them and protect them. Because they primarily live indoors and they look to us to take care of them, they have no reason to hunt for food. Even so, they are not able to eat whenever they feel like it. They can't go into the refrigerator and pull out a juicy steak. They have been domesticated, but they have their limits.
I’m sure we would all agree that though domesticating dogs and cats has caused them to be dependent on humans, it has not caused the inside of their body structure or their instincts to change. If my cat went outside and saw a bird, instinctively he'd go after the bird as his prey (which he has). Or if a mouse entered my house, most likely my cat would chase it and try to kill it (or play with it as I’ve heard some cats will do – this could be a case of confusion if they play with toy mice). And if a dog saw a cat, his instincts would tell him to go after the cat. Of course, generally speaking, animals can be trained.
Many families have rescued pets right off the street or have adopted them from a another family or a local shelter. Pet owners have different reasons for having pets. We can see how their roles vary. In many instances, pets become like family. Some pets are desired for protection, companionship, a playmate for the children or help with seeing. Whatever the reason, pets offer many benefits. So why would anyone, including their owners, want to cause them harm?
It's clear that our pets are dependent on us for their food and proper nourishment. If they don’t have the ability to eat what they should and when they want, isn’t it our responsibility to give them what they need? It sure is! Pharmaceutical companies and veterinarians are cashing in on our pets’ ill health. Pet insurance has even been available as if to warn pet owners that there will come a day when their pet will likely get sick. It’s inevitable that they will, too, mainly because of the foods of they eat. So what can we do?
I’m not going to go into detail about what I’ve discovered about pet foods in this article because Dr. Becker, DVM has already done that. So I hope you’ll take the time to read Dr. Becker’s article and inquire about the book she’s written called, Dr. Becker's Real Food for Health Dogs and Cats Cookbook. Take a minute also to check out the Primal Pet Foods website as well as Aunt Jeni’s and EVO.
To your pet's good health and long life!

Meat Glue holds it together
Here's a new one. Meat glue. I've never heard of it until today and I have to say I'm not surprised. It just goes to show how important it is for all of us to be more interested in what's not being reported on the news than what is. From what I read, the FDA recognizes meat glue as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). As with most everything else, just follow the money trail.
Now, I'm completely on board with those who want to be creative and use scraps so as not to waste anything. However I'm not on board when deceit is involved. Are you really getting what you’re paying for or are you spending your hard earned money on meats that aren’t really what you think they are?
Of course, it's no suprise that those who profit from meat glue will tell us that it's safe and has no negative side effects. But if they weren't profitting from it, would they use it? It's doubtful. Why would they waste time on something that wouldn't enhance and increase profits?
Here are some questions you should be asking yourself and your butcher:
Advances in technology can be a good thing if used properly and for our good. But when it has been taken beyond the scope of truth in order to deceive those who support it, that's where we, as consumers, must take a step back and question it. I hope you will do just that.
What is meat glue is and why is it dangerous and deceptive? Find out in this video and article.

- Where do you buy your meats?
- Do you know where the meat comes from?
- Do you know how the animals live and what they’re fed, i.e. Do they live in tight spaces/cages or do they live in their natural environment where they have access to the outside with sunshine. Are theyfed a proper diet like grass?
- Do you even know what they should be fed and how they should live?
- Do you know if the animals were given hormones and antibiotics (it is unlawful in the United States for farmers to inject chickens we will eat with hormones).

Aspartame: A friend or foe?
While our government denies that Aspartame has any negative side effects, Victoria Inness Brown and the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center, European Ramazzini Foundation of Oncology and Environmental Sciences in Bologna, Italy, on the other hand, have concluded that Aspartame does have very negative consequences. Aspartame is an ingedient in the very popular and widely consumed artificial sweetener, Nutrasweet.
Victoria Inness Brown, a typical citizen, experimentor and author of an article called NEW! Self-Funded Study Found HUGE Tumors from This Everyday Food... concludes that any food or beverage made with or from Aspartame should be avoided completely. Please read her article along with the published results on PubMed.gov.
Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners may be disguised on the ingedient list. Read the labels! and know the facts. Look for these ingredients listed below and avoid anything made with or from them:

Vermont Soap's Ingredient of the Month
TRICLOSAN
Vermont Soap's "Ingredient of the Month" is antimicrobial chemicals and in particular one called "TRICLOSAN."
Triclosan can be found in hygiene products, cosmetics, household products, countertops, kitchenware and textiles (this includes clothing). Oh, and stuffed animals too! This antimicrobrial chemical is being reported and touted as safe by the FDA however animal studies concluded that triclosan is a chemical we should avoid for a number of reasons.
Congressman Edward Markey has petitioned the government for Triclosan to be banned in the US. It's already banned and limited in other countries. The FDA is apparently still investigating the effects of triclosan on humans and should be coming out with a decision sometime this spring, 2011.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) also conducted a triclosan study with 2517 people, seven years and older, to find out if traces of triclosan would be found. Seventy-five (75%) of the children and adults tested had various concentration levels of triclosan in their blood.
Sarah Janssen, MD, PhD, a staff scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council, tells WebMD that triclosan can lead to "altered behavior, learning disabilities and infertility. "
Most of us have heard that the over use of antibiotics can cause bacteria to become resistant to them (superbugs). It's no different with antimicobial chemicals like triclosan. The concern is that super bugs can develop due to overuse of antimicrobial chemicals rendering triclosan and other microbial chemicals ineffective. This means that scientists will have to develop even stronger chemicals to fight off the effects of the superbugs. Why won't we learn from the antibiotic/bacteria/superbug debacle?
Check out the Triclosan Fact Sheet for more details about products with triclosan.
Be sure to read the labels before you make a purchase,
